Occasionally the production tricks can threaten to mask Jackson himself—“Slave to the Rhythm” is as Britney-ish as its title would suggest. But on “A Place With No Name,” it’s a perfect marriage between Jackson’s vocals and the new production, creating a new banger that Jackson no doubt would have been thrilled to perform.

Let the critics fuss over Xscape and its relevance in the MJ canon. Does it have any decent songs? Yes, to a point. Timbaland's executive production of the late King of Pop's sundry demos makes Xscape sound like an addendum to his and Justin Timberlake's albums -- call it The 20/20 Experience and sure enough, JT pops up on "Love Never Felt So Good.".

I was considerably affected by Michael's passing, and lamented the idea of not hearing any more new material from him. Until now. Personally I think this is the best MJ album since Dangerous. The production is fantastic, and Michael's vocals are stellar throughout. Best songs: "Love never felt so Good", "A Place with no Name", "Slave to the.
